| Wherefore at daybreak the rooster crows | هنگام سپیده دم خروس سحری |
| The world saw no profit from my becoming; | از آمدنم نبود گردون را سود |
| What is the profit of our coming and going? | از آمدن و رفتن ما سودی کو؟ |
| Some contemplate the way of piety; | قومی متفکرند اندر ره دین |
| Without wine, man's true essence, I cannot sustain; | من بی می ناب زیستن نتوانم |
| 'Tis a goblet that earns the Mind's praise; | جامیست که عقل آفرین میزندش |
| The answer to perpetuity neither you know nor I; | اسرار ازل را نه تو دانی و نه من |
